Thomas Albert Amer, age 86, Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Linn County, Kansas, passed away on Saturday January 4, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center in Olathe, Kansas. He was born on October 12, 1927 in Linn County the son of Ray and Mary Virginia Holmes Amer. He graduated from Pleasanton High School. Albert was a World War II Army Veteran. He worked for Linn County and later was a farmer and stockman. He married Emma Joanna Holzer on August 30, 1960. She passed away on February 12, 1973. He then married Charlotte Louise Edgar on March 30, 1974. She also preceded him on January 9, 1993. Albert enjoyed his many different teams of horses, horse pulls and driving his teams in local parades. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Marilyn Swope and Shirley Amer. He is survived by his sister Norma Siemen, nieces: Milisa Suckow, Michelle Ruckersfeldt, Monica Chapman, Tami Ely, and Teri Coffey,other extended family members, special friends Dave and Brenda Ball, and many caring friends and staff members at the Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral service will be held 2 PM Thursday January 9, 2014 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Burial in the Mapleton
Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 PM to service time at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Good Samaritan Activity Fund. On
